8 October 2026 Thursday – Arrival
Four-night package guests arrive in Chicago and transfer on your own to the JW Marriott Chicago. You will be greeted at your hotel by a Marathon Tours & Travel staff.
Hotel rooms are usually ready after 4pm; if you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and explore the city and surrounds.
The Abbott Health & Fitness Expo at McCormick Place will be open today. Today you can visit the Marathon Expo , if you wish. Or wait for our staff to accompany you to the Expo tomorrow to collect the bib number.
9 October 2026 Friday – Marathon Expo
***Three-night package guests arrive in Chicago and transfer on your own to the JW Marriott Chicago. You will be greeted at your hotel by a Marathon Tours & Travel staff. Hotel rooms are usually ready after 4pm; if you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage with the hotel concierge and explore the city and surrounds.
We will offer an escorted trip by metro to the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo at McCormick Place , if you have not already been.
After collecting your race pack, you may return to the hotel on your own.
(Breakfast included for four-night package guests, guests of the three-night package do not have breakfast today.)
10 October 2026 Saturday – Pre-Race Pasta Dinner
For those who prefer, there is an organized race (at an extra cost $51) that takes place which you can choose to take part in. To register for and learn more about the Abbott Chicago 5K visit chicago5K.com.
Our pre-race pasta dinner will conveniently be at the JW Marriott Chicago.

11 October 2026 Sunday – Marathon Race Day!
Your Marathon Tours & Travel team will be in the lobby of the hotel offering escorted walks to the start area in Grant Park (about 1 km).
Following the race you will make your way back to the hotel for some well-deserved rest before we gather for a celebratory toast!
This evening is free to experience one of the many fine restaurants in the city.

12 October 2026 Monday – Departure Day
Enjoy a leisure morning before checking out by 12:00PM.
