Post-Race Extension/5 Nights/September 11 - 16, 2026

Friday, September 11

Following your flight from PEM to Cusco, guests will be transferred by coach bus to Sacred Valley, where you will spend the first three nights.  Enjoy a group dinner this evening with a Peruvian Paso Horse Performance.  (Dinner included)

Saturday, September 12

Today we will visit Maras, a small Andean town and an iconic salt‑mining site known for its stunning terraced salt ponds, deep history, and ongoing community‑run salt production.  You will also be introduced to Moray, an innovative Inca agricultural research site, showcasing the empire’s advanced understanding of climate, farming, and engineering. Its unique terraced depressions made it a one‑of‑a‑kind laboratory for crop development in the ancient Andes. Another highlight of the day is Chinchero, which sits at about 3,754–3,800 meters (12,300–12,500 ft) above sea level, offering dramatic views of the surrounding Andean peaks. It is considered one of the most culturally representative towns of the Cusco region and is also known as the “Rainbow Town” due to the frequent appearance of rainbows during the rainy season. The group dinner will be at Loas Manos Restaurant this evening.   (Breakfast, Family Style Lunch, Dinner included)

Sunday, September 13

Today enjoy a half-day tour in Ollantaytambo, one of the most important and best‑preserved Inca towns in Peru. Located at the western end of the Sacred Valley (approximately 30 minutes driving time), it is both an archaeological site and a living Inca town, continuously inhabited since the 15th century.  The town still retains its original Inca street grid, water canals and stone doorways, making it one of the most authentic Andean towns to explore.  Lunch and the afternoon are on your own today to enjoy. The group dinner this evening is at the Wayra Restaurant at your hotel.  (Breakfast and Dinner included)

Monday, September 14

Following an early breakfast we will transfer with your luggage to the train station for our Machu Picchu experience.  Aboard the 360° Machu Picchu Train you will have an immersive panoramic journey through the Sacred Valley into the cloud forest surrounding Machu Picchu.  After the two hour (approximate) train ride, we will arrive at Aguas Calientes, where we will be driven to the Citadel.  From here we will enter Machu Picchu (Circuit 2 – subject to availability and requires moderate walking).   Lunch will be enjoyed at Cafe Inkaterra Restaurant.  Tonight dinner and your overnight are in Aguas Calientes.  (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)

Tuesday, September 15

This morning is free to enjoy your  surroundings.  We will take the Inca Rail back to Ollanta Train Station and then board our coach bus for the drive to Cusco.  Dinner and accommodations at the Palazio del Inka.  (Breakfast and Dinner included)
